Five suspected cultists have been allegedly murdered in Calabar, Cross River State capital in the renewed cult clash between suspected Axe Confraternity and Klansmen.

It was gathered that one person was murdered at Gas Station along White House Street, Calabar on Wednesday, while another was reportedly killed on Thursday morning along Hart Street.

An eyewitness, who declined to give his name, said that the one at Hart was the only child of his parent.

He said that other incidents occurred at Ekondo Street, White House and Nyong Edem Street, all in Calabar South local government area.

It was gathered that the men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad  and the SARS were immediately deployed to the affected areas to restore normalcy while some arrests were made.

The latest killings followed last week’s beheading of two suspected cult members.

One of the victims was killed around Wilkie by Ephraim Street also in Calabar South, while another victim simply identified as Cafu, was murdered in Afokang area in Calabar South.
