The National Youth Service Corps has resumed with very strict adherence to all Covid-19 to ensure safety of corps members after months of lockdown and ease of lockdown due to the pandemic.
The FCT NYSC coordinator , Hajia Walida Siddique Isa made this known on
Monday at the orientation camp, Kubwa, during the swearing in ceremony for the
2020 batch B stream 1a.
Hajia Walida Siddique Isa speaking with newsmen said the corps members were
discovered during the requisite tests and examination they had to undergo in
line with the COVID-19 protocol before admission into the camp for the
orientation and have been handed over to the IPC arm of the NCDC for adequate
medical attention.
Hajia Isa said all the corps members and camp officials are COVID-19 free
since they were all thoroughly tested before the commencement of the
orientation exercise and any who should test positive in the course of the
camping would handed over to the NCDC for medical attention.
In her remark the Minister of state, FCT, Dr Ramatu Tijani Aliyu
represented by Dr Kelvin Ike, applauded the role of the scheme in the promotion
of national unity and integration as well as the development strides in the
education, health , agriculture amongst other sectors of the economy.
In a separate remark the chairman NYSC FCT governing board represented by
Hajia Ladi Umar urged the corps members to diligently align themselves with the
different training to adequately equip them for the future.
853 corps members
were administered the oath of allegiance by the FCT chief judge, Justice Ishiaq
Bello who was represented by Justice V.Garba.
