IGP Inspects FCT Nysc Camp, Says 53 Persons Arrested For Looting (Photos)

Fifty three persons have been arrested in connection to the recent attack on the NYSC Orientation Camp,Kubwa, Abuja.

The inspector general of police Mohammed Adamu disclosed this on Friday in Kubwa during the inspection of the camp to ascertain the level of destruction at the camp during the #EndSARS protest.

The IG of Police who was accompanied on the inspection by the Director General of the NYSC, Brig General Shuaibu Ibrahim and the FCT Coordinator Hajia Walida Siddique Isa assured that the looters would be tracked and prosecuted, saying fifty three persons have already been arrested while some looted items have been recovered from the looting which took place earlier this week.

Adamu also used the occasion to call on the public to report anyone in possession of looted properties to the appropriate authorities since the said items such as uniforms and other items can easily be identified from the labels on them.

The Nysc DG Brig Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim called on the public not to attack the camps across the nation since there are no palliatives there order than what is needed for the reopening of the camp.

Hajia Walida Siddique, the Nysc FCT coordinator, condemned the attack by youths, calling on them to obey constituted authority while ensuring they are gainfully engaged to avoid the temptation to steal.

The whole camp was ransacked with items carted away while everything in the clinic was totally moved leaving the place bare.
