The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has described the demise of the former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, as a rude shock and a great loss to the country and the Church.
The Association in a statement by it’s General Secretary Joseph Bade Daramola, Esq said they were dumbfounded by the sudden relocation of a voice of the voiceless, a voice of courage, wisdom and reason, a patriot per excellence, a genuine Christian.
Saying Dr Obadiah Mailafia passed on when the country needs him most, the Christian body called on the Federal government to immortalise him.
They condoled with his immediate family, the government and the people of Kaduna State and the country while praying that God console and comfort all the bereaved in Jesus’ Name.
Christian Association also went in to say that he will be during the forthcoming CAN Anniversary celebrations.
