The 2019 Batch C
stream 1 Corps members currently on orientation course at the NYSC FCT
Permanent Orientation Camp, Kubwa have been told not to underestimate any camp
activity during the orientation exercise.
Former NYSC FCT coordibator
and a retired Director, Human Resources Management at the NYSC NDHQ Alhaji Abba
Tanko , gave the advice while addressing Corps members, stressing that each
activity has a vital role in their present and future lives as leaders of tomorrow.
Alhaji Tanko who
earlier congratulated the Corps members on their academic successes that
qualified them for participation in the scheme also extolled their resilience,
general comportment and discipline so far on camp.
The retired Director
also took the Corps members through memory lane particularly during his
stewardship in the NYSC scheme and concluded that hard work and determination
was key to success.
Charging them to be
focused on whatever responsibilities they are saddled with, and must at times
be desirous of leadership positions during and after the their service year, he
further advised them to be law abiding at all time while stressing the
importance of learning and understanding other people languages, saying it is
the connecting link to other cultures and friendships.
The former FCT
Coordinator also used the platform to appreciate NYSC management and indeed the
NYSC FCT Secretariat as well as all camp officials for their sustained capacity
at shaping the lives of the numerous Nigerian youths that have passed through
the scheme since inception
