Fulani Herdsmen Attack In Ibarapa (Graphic Photos)

Suspected herdsmen stormed Igangan, Ibarapaland community late Saturday night, burning fuel stations, houses, shops and the palace of Oba Lasisi Adeoye, the monarch of the town.

Eyewitness reports reveal that the gunmen wreaked havoc in the community until early Sunday, killing several people in the attack.

Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen stormed the community with over 20 motorcycles.

Taiwo Adeagbo, an official of Igangan Farmers’ Union told this newspaper that the gunmen arrived around 12:40 a.m. on Sunday.

Multiple sources who pleaded anonymity for security reasons said 15 died.

Reacting to the latest development, Governor Seyi Makinde in a post on Twitter pleaded residents to be calm and assured to look into the incident.

“I have received the shocking news of the attacks on residents of Igangan, Ibarapaland, in the early hours of this morning. I am currently being briefed on the incidents. I urge residents to remain calm as security operatives are now in control of the situation,” he wrote on Twitter.
