My divorce ‘the ultimate failure’- Will Smith

Will Smith has described his divorce from his first wife as his “ultimate failure” and the “worst thing in my adult life”.

The 51-year-old actor married Sheree Zampino in 1992 before divorcing her three years later. The former couple share a son, Trey.

In a Red Table Talk clip released ahead of Father’s Day, Pinkett Smith, Will’s current wife of 23 years, raises an idea that her husband has reflected on over the years, according to which “just because a man might not be the best husband does not mean [he’s not a good father]”.

“Divorce was the worst thing in my adult life and the ultimate failure for me,” Smith said of his 1995 divorce to his first wife.

Smith went on to marry Pinkett Smith in 1997. The pair have two children together: Jaden Smith, 21, and Willow Smith, 19.

In a 2018 episode of Pinkett-Smith’s Red Table Talk web series, she spoke to Zampino and discussed their early rocky relationship.
