NCDC announces 386 new coronavirus cases, bringing total to 3912( See post/ breakdown)

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 386 new cases of coronavirus in Nigeria on Friday, May 8.

The new cases are one of the highest to be reported in the country by the government agency.

According to a tweet by the agency, Lagos state has the highest infections with 176 cases while Kano followed with 65 infections. Katsina came third with 31 infections and followed by Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja which has 20 cases. Borno has 17 while Bauchi has 15. Nasarawa recorded 14 cases while Ogun state has 13 with Plateau having 10 cases.

Oyo, Sokoto and Rivers states record 4 cases each while Kaduna has 3 infections. Also, three states which include Edo, Ondo, Ebonyi, all have 2cases each. On the bottom of the list are 4 states of Enugu, Imo, Gombe and Osun who shared 4 cases equally.

In all, the cases were reported in 20 states as the total number of cases rose to 3912.
