NEMSA Trains 47 staffs on Quality Management System To Meet SON Standard

Forty seven staff of the Nigerian Electricity Management Service Agency, have been trained on the implementation of final audit course of Quality Management System QMS for the certification of ISO 9001:2015 by Standard Organisations of Nigeria.

The Managing Director of NEMSA Engr. Peter Ewesor has disclosed this in his welcome address on Wednesday in Abuja at the official presentation of QMS ISO 9001:2015 Certificate to NEMSA by Standard Organisation of Nigeria, SON.

Engr Ewesor said with the QMS ISO 9001:2015 certification, NEMSA has become a brand new agency of the federal government and the first in the power sector to actually acquire this certification just like in 2015 when it become the first agency in the power sector to have its act, NEMSA Act 2015.

He further revealed that the enforcement of safety standard and regulation, testing, inspection and certification is a very important aspect in growing the power industry of any nation anywhere in the world.

Explaining further he said the training will automatically translate to higher efficiency, productivity, timely and quality service delivery to all our customers which includes the TCN, generating companies, the discos, the certified electrical company of Nigeria, certified metering installation contractors of Nigeria and all others including the general public from whom we provides services of ensuring safety of use of electricity, lifes and properties in Nigeria”.

“The adoption of quality Management system iso 9001:2015 was a strategic decision for NEMSA and has impacted positively on all overall performance and provide a sound basis for sustaining sustainable development initiatives”. Ewesor added.

The Director General of Standard Organisation Of Nigeria, SON, Farouk Salem in his address said NEMSA has joined the privileged class of Quality Management Certified and upgraded organisation in Nigeria.

He also said this milestone achievement is worthy of emulation by service providers agencies in the Nigeria.
