Some countries on the African continent have shown that they do not care about the ages of leaders they elect to lead them.

On this list we will give names of the oldest presidents in Africa.

1. Paul Biya (Cameroon):-Born in November 6, 1933, Paul Biya is currently 88 years old and still a serving president of Cameroon. The second president of Cameroon is the 7th in the list of oldest presidents in the world, according to Business Insider.
2. Alpha Condé (Guinea):- Currently 83 years old (born in March 4, 1938), according to Wikipedia, Alpha Condé has been in office since December 21, 2010 after playing opposition for decades in Guinea and following an unsuccessful shot at the vice presidency in 1993 and 1998.
3. Alassane Ouattara (Ivory Coast):- 79-year-old (January 1st, 1942) Ouattara is third on this list. The Ph.D and master’s holder in economics has been in the Côte d’Ivoire seat of power since 2011.
4. Evaristo Carvalho (São Tomé and Príncipe):-Evaristo Carvalho, 78, assumed office in September 3, 2016 after he succeeded Manuel Pinto da Costa, a two-time president of São Tomé and Príncipe.
5. Muhammadu Buhari (Nigeria):-Muhammadu Buhari, 78 (born in December 17,1942) , was democratically elected in 2015 after three unsuccessful bids in 2003, 2007, and 2011 general elections.

Buhari had served as head of state from December 31, 1983, to August 27, 1985 after taking power in a military coup d’état.

1. Nana Akufo-Addo (Ghana):- Born in March 29, 1944, Akufo-Addo had first ran for president in 2008 and again in 2012. He succeeded on the third attempt by defeating a much younger John Dramani Mahama in the 2016 general elections.
2. Yoweri Museveni (Uganda):- Yoweri Museveni of Uganda completes our top 7 list. The 76-year-old (August 15, 1944) is one of the longest serving presidents. He has been at the seat of power since 1986.
