Nigeria records 170 new COVID-19 cases, total infections now 2,558 ( See tweet)

Nigeria has recorded 170 new cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing the country’s total infections to 2,558

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in a tweet at 12.01am on Monday, May 4, stated that of the new infections, 39 are in Lagos, 29 from Kano, 24 in Ogun, 18 from Bauchi and 17 from Kaduna. The FCT and Sokoto had 12 each, while Katsina has 8 cases and 7 cases were recorded in Borno.

Three cases were recorded in Nasarawa, two in Adamawa and one in Oyo state. Kano now has 2nd highest number of COVID-19 patients .

The number of discharged persons increased from 385 to 400, while the fatalities recorded rose from 85 to 87.
