Nigeria, total COVID-19 cases infections now 4,971 with 184 new index

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 184 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 4,971. The federal health agency made the announcement via its Twitter handle on Wednesday night, May 13.

The total number of recoveries is now 1,070, while the number of fatalities increased to 164. Six new deaths were recorded with 111 new recoveries from the last update.

Lagos state leads the pack in the latest report with 51 cases while Jigawa followed with 23 cases. Both and Bauchi and Katsina states have 16 cases each while Kano has 14 new cases. The FCT and Rivers state have 10 cases each while Kwara state has nine new cases. Delta and Kaduna states have five new cases each while Sokoto and Oyo states followed with four cases each. Kebbi, Nasarawa, and Osun states all have three cases each while Ondo has two new cases. Ebonyi, Edo, Enugu, Anambra, Plateau, and Niger states all have one case each.

Kogi and Cross River are the two states yet to confirm a single case of the disease in the country.
