Nigeria’s coronavirus infections now 54, 905 with 162 new cases

Nigeria on Saturday recorded 162 coronavirus cases.

The latest daily figure according to an update by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday night brings the total number of infections in the country to 54, 905.

Cases have fallen below 300 for almost two weeks in Africa’s most populous nation.

Three deaths were recorded on Saturday, dragging the total number of deaths from the virus 1, 054.

The 162 new cases were reported in 15 states:

Gombe-21
Oyo-19
Delta-12
Ondo-11
Plateau-10
Ebonyi-9
FCT-6
Kwara-6
Kaduna-5
Rivers-3
Ogun-2
Anambra-2
Imo-2
Ekiti-1

The NCDC in its daily update stated that out of the over 54, 905 infections so far, 42, 922 persons have recovered and have been discharged.
