Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases now 20,244 as 436 new infections are recorded

Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases have exceeded 20,000 as the country recorded 436 new infections.

The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) in a tweet on Sunday night June 21 said the new infections is spread across 19 states with Lagos having the highest number with 169 cases.

Other affected states are Oyo with 52, Plateau – 31; Imo – 29; Kaduna – 28, Ogun – 23, the Abuja – 18; Enugu – 18; Bauchi – 17, Bayelsa – 14, Rivers 8; Osun – 6; Kano – 6; Edo – 5; Benue – 5; Adamawa – 3, Borno – 2; Abia – 1; Ekiti – 1.
With this, Nigeria’s total number of COVID-19 cases stands at 20,244.

A total of 6,879 patients have recovered and been discharged, while the death toll now stands at 518.
