Nigeria’s total COVID-19 infections exceed 12,000 as NCDC reports 389 new cases

The number of COVID-19 infections in Nigeria has increased as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced fresh 389 new cases in the country.

The health agency announced the new cases in 22 states and the FCT via its Twitter page on Saturday, June 6.

Lagos topped the list with the highest number, 66, and was closely followed by the FCT which had 50 new cases.
The states with the least number of new cases were Abia and Niger states which recorded one each.

The number of deaths went from 333 on Friday night to 342 on Saturday which shows nine more people lost their lives in a space of 24 hours.
The latest NCDC report shows Nigeria now has 12233 cases of COVID-19. Out of that number, 3826 have recovered and have been discharged.
