National youth
service corps members have been advised to use the social media positively to
impact the society for good.
The FCT coordinator,
Hajiya Walida Siddique Isa made the call at the closing ceremony of the
orientation course for the 2019 Batch ‘C’ stream 11corps members at the NYSC
camp, Kubwa.
Represented at
the occasion by assistant director skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development
(SAED), Mr Oladele Jacob, Hajia Siddique Isa said enjoined corps members to be worthy
ambassador of the NYSC by promoting cohesiveness, unity and tolerance.
The NYSC coordinator
who called on them to go about the service year with dedication and selflessness
said that corps members who distinguish themselves would be rewarded.
In her remark
the FCT minister of state, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu who was represented by the
acting chairman NYSC FCT governing board, Hajiya Safiya Umar, said corps members
should put into practice leadership and intensive skills acquisition trainings
learnt during the orientation course into practice.
Dr Tijjani Aliyu while calling on corps members to contribute immensely towards the development of the FCT in the area of agriculture, education, rural health , rural infrastructure and others assured that special recognition would be given to who served in area councils where corps members are mostly needed and appreciated.
