The ochacho foundation has embarked on repairs of the road federal road spanning from Otukpo burnt brick down to Enugu round about.
Chairman ochacho foundation, King Mohammed Adah, Oyame’kotukpo speaking during the commencement of work on Saturday, said the work on the road was started due to the cry by ocho’otukpo along with his chiefs and councillors for it to be made motorable pending when the Federal government would eventually fix it.
King Mohammed Adah said the work is for him to contribute his quota as a son of otukpo and idomaland and is from his own pocket which should not be seen as a challenge to anyone but should engender unity as other well meaning sons and daughters can key in by contributing their own quota in anyway they deem capable of.
Speaking , the Ocho’otukpo chief John Eimonye said his chiefs and councillors from otukpo came to him lamenting the state of the road which prompted them to cry to King Mohammed Adah and we’re rewarded by his acceptance backed by immediate action on fixing the road.
Chief Eimonye also used the occasion to call on persons not to put impediment in their way but be allowed to do what they are supposed to.
In his remark the managing director of Ochacho foundation, Mr Alex Enokela Ogbeh thanked the chairman of the foundation for the support and prayed that God will raise other men and women l like him who are willing to rally round the Idoma people in any way possible. He also used the occasion to call on the people for prayer and support while assuring that apart from lighting parts of Otukpo and the on going repair work on the road the people should expect more from them.
The ongoing work on the road which is worth millions of naira will be completed before the end of December 2021. The foundation also made a donation of two (2) operational vehicles and twelve (12) motorcycles to the otukpo security outfit ‘Abaku’ to aid them in carrying out their activities.
