Proportional representation a must in government – NCP (photos)

The National Conscience Party NCP has call for proportional representation for all political parties to ensure an all inclusive government.

The national chairman of the NCP,Dr Yunusa Tanko made the call in his address during the 59th Independence Day celebration of the nation and the 25th year anniversary of the party in Abuja tagged ” proportional representation in government now”.

Speaking Dr Tanko said proportional representation by all political parties would take care of nomadic policking and also create a wider participation for women, the disabled and others while votes by voters during election would count and also reduce politics of money .

The NCP chairman who decried the system of winner takes all in politics, said their party would meet with other political parties for synergy so that the electoral system translates votes into seats in elected assemblies so as to instill greater trust by all.
