TOPIC: PRAISE: THE CELEBRATION OF THE NATURE AND CHARACTER OF GOD

SCRIPTURE:Neh 8:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Knowing the Almightiness of God provokes praise and worship unto Him.

Our anchor Scripture clearly reveals that praise is the secret of strength in life and ministry. This is because praise releases the joy of the Lord and the joy of the Lord is the guarantee of strength. No wonder, People of praise are people of strength.

Therefore, it is very important to understand what praise is all about in order for us to praise God effectively.

Now, what is praise?

It is the celebration of the Nature and Character of God
When you decide to celebrate God, not because of what He did but because of who He is, that is an act of genuine praise and worship. There are many people who go to God only because of what they want Him to do for them. On the other hand, there are those who go to God because of who He is. These are people who genuinely praise and celebrate God.

When you remember that He is the God who rides on the wings of the wind, whose pavilion is light, whose garment is fire, who sits in Heaven and the Earth is His foot stool; the God who lays the beam of His chambers in the water, the one who blew over the Red Sea and it is divided by the blast of His Nostrils; then you are moved to worship Him.
Knowing the Almightiness of God provokes His praise and worship. God blew from His Nostrils, a wind that was strong enough to create an eighteen-mile express road in the Red Sea. For millions of years, God never sleeps nor slumbers, yet He does not have migraine headache.
When you understand how great God is, you are provoked to praise and worship Him. So, to praise God is to celebrate His Nature. God is both the Lion and the Lamb, the One whose Nature is both Sun and Star.

It has been said that God is the one who fetches water with the basket in order to put the calabash to shame; He passed through the Red Sea, yet His body was not wet. This is who God is.

Beloved, be determined to know God enough to provoke His Worship.
Remember this: Knowing the Almightiness of God provokes His praise and worship.
