TOPIC: DEALING WITH THE LOVE OF MONEY.
SUNDAY 11TH. OCTOBER, 2020.
SCRIPTURE: Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase. Proverbs 3:9
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To destroy greed or the love of money, you must give God the first place in your financial life.
Yesterday, we saw that the love of money is a killer of conscience. People do a lot of evil things because of the love of money.
Today, we shall be looking at how to deal with the love of money.
The therapies for the love of money:
i. Ask God to kill the love of money (Mat. 7:7).
Ask God to kill the love of money from your life.
One of the things God did for me early in life is the ability to despise money as if it does not exist. God brought me to a point that as a pastor, I can look at people and tell them the truth of the Word of God no matter how much they have or how wealthy they are. God will give you such heart in Jesus’ Name.
ii. Embrace the lifestyle of generosity; the giver’s lifestyle (Luke 6:38).
You deal with the love of money by embracing the lifestyle of generosity which is the giver’s lifestyle. Nothing destroys greed like release or giving.
iii. Give God the first place in your financial life.
To destroy greed or the love of money, you must give God the first place in your financial life (Proverbs 3:9). Do not spend on yourself until you have spent on God and His Kingdom. When you have a financial increase, think first about God and His Kingdom.
I decree to you that you will never be a victim of greed or covetousness in Jesus’ Name.
Remember this: To destroy greed or the love of money, you must give God the first place in your financial life.

- Embrace the lifestyle of generosity.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for showing me the ways to deal with greed or the love of money. Help me to embrace the giver’s lifestyle and put You first in my financial decisions, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
