THE DANGERS OF IMMORALITY

Immorality, like every other form of sin, distracts one’s vision and focus in life because it makes one to harbour filthy thoughts.
SCRIPTURE: Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings. Proverbs 31:3.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every time people commit immorality, they give away their strength, energy, potential and destiny.
In our study last Tuesday, we saw that immorality, and iniquity generally, reduces the quality of life and destiny. This is one danger of immorality.
Today, it is also important to look at other dangers of immorality.
- Immorality, and iniquity generally, attacks spirituality
Immorality, like every other kind of sin, leaves a person with the moral burden of guilt. The guilt of immorality negatively affects a person’s spiritual life. When you indulge in immorality, and iniquity generally, your study of the Word of God becomes meaningless, and your prayer life (if any) becomes dry. Immorality reduces spirituality, and you know that your spirituality determines your destiny.
- Immorality, and iniquity generally, attacks mentality (Judges 16:13).
Immorality, like every other form of sin, distracts one’s vision and focus in life because it makes one to harbour filthy thoughts. The mind that one needs to strategize for the future is now diverted into garbage. A young man in school begins to fail examination because he is immorally involved with a girl. A young lady begins to write the same examination again and again because her mind is clogged with the thoughts of the immoral affair she is having with a boy. You cannot fulfil destiny when your vision is affected by immorality.
- Immorality, and iniquity generally, diverts energy
Every time people commit immorality, they give away their strength, energy, potential and destiny (Proverbs 31:3). When people commit immorality, they destroy their future and destiny.
That will never be your portion in Jesus’ Name.
Remember this: Every time people commit immorality, they give away their strength, energy, potential and destiny.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Always make demands on the Grace of God to escape the trap of immorality.
- Do not fall into the temptation of watching pornographic or immoral movies.
- Don’t allow evil thoughts to settle in your minds.
PRAYER: O Lord, I make demands on Your grace to escape the trap of immorality. Deliver me from association and activities that lead to immorality, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
