LOVE GIVES
By DIGC 31 August 2021

When you love people, you show them kindness.

SCRIPTURE: Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Proverbs 3:27.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you love people, you show them kindness.

It has been confirmed that Love is the nature of God.

1 John 4:8 says,

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

People who know God really love people for God is love.

Previously, we saw that love is kind. When you love people, you show them kindness. I give you one example. In our church some time ago, an usher testified how someone saw how he came to church very early with his children and wife to do ushering work. So, the person said, “This usher is so dedicated to God all the time. Let me help him serve God more”. Then he bought that usher and his family members a car. That is the practicality of love. Love is kind.

My wife knows that my level of giving to people is on another scale. One day, she said, “You do things for everyone except yourself. When last did you buy something for yourself? What can I pick for you from the journey I am about to embark on?” I told her nothing.

Beloved, love is kind. I like you to move from the realm of looking for what to get into the realm of seeking for what to give.

There is generosity in love. Love gives. Love does not withhold from people what is due to them.

My counsel is, make up your mind to show kindness to the people around you.

Remember this: When you love people, you show them kindness.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Ask God to baptise you afresh with the nature of love.
  2. Make up your mind to love people unconditionally.

PRAYER: O LORD I ask that You give me the grace to love people unconditionally. Help me not to withhold what You have given me from who is due, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: God’s love for the world is what made Him send His Son to die for us in order to effect forgiveness. His love was made manifest by the death of His only begotten Son, which was an expression of His forgiveness towards us. Culled from “AM I BITTER?” by Dr (Mrs) Becky Paul-Enenche.

DAILY READING: Ezekiel 19-21

REFLECTION: Someone’s smile is waiting for your act of love. Someone’s joy is predicated on your deed of kindness. Will you offer them the privilege?

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: As you set out to touch the lives of others with the Love of God, lack shall be far from your life in Jesus’ Name.
