START FROM WHERE YOU ARE

You don’t know the joy of living until you experience the joy of giving.
SCRIPTURE: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 1 Corinthians 13:1
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You don’t know the joy of living until you experience the joy of giving.
Sometime ago, our official photographer decided to capture in a picture a moment when I was carrying my wife with one hand in my office. The picture went viral on social media, and many people saw it.
One woman who saw the picture went home and asked her husband to carry her likewise. But this is the challenge: the sizes are not the same – she has more body weight than my wife. So, her husband said: “You know, this is a very difficult request that you are making. Anyway, I will also lift you up but I will lift you up in prayers.’ That was so funny! Well, lifting is lifting.
That was what the man could offer as far as the lifting of wife was concerned.
Now, this is the point: on the journey of showing love, you may not have enough cash to give but you have prayer to give. You have a word of encouragement to offer. That is the aim of the above story. You don’t know the joy of living until you experience the joy of giving.
Beloved, start from where you are in the walk and work of love. You don’t need to be a millionaire or a billionaire before you give; start from where you are.
Let me give you a counsel: if you are busy with other things, and someone randomly comes up in your mind, try and pick up your phone and call them; reach out to them; hear from them. You don’t know whether there is an issue in their lives that needs attention. Don’t be surprised, some people might tell you, ‘Actually, I was contemplating suicide, for the last five days, I have been so depressed.’
Beloved, I want you to take action from this counsel.
Remember this: You don’t know the joy of living until you experience the joy of giving.
- Get your phone, send a text to, or call someone you have not seen in church for a while. You can change someone’s story by just a text.
- Look around and locate someone who has a need and assist as much as you can to meet the need as the Lord leads you.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: The Lord cause you to be a channel of Blessing in your generation in Jesus’ Name.
REFLECTION: Love is not just what you feel or say. Love is what you do. Until love is done, love is not real. Action must replace emotion to communicate affection.
