Tiger prawns (crayfish) increased Nigerian agric export by 30 percent

Penaeus monodon, commonly known as the giant tiger prawn and locally as crayfish is a marine crustacean that is widely reared for food.

Nigerian tiger prawn that was unharvested for decades has begun earning the nation huge foreign exchange. Netherlands bought N12bn prawns from us last 2years to make it N100bn in export.

Prawns now account for 30% of the nations agric export this year and is also exported to Belgium,USA,France.
