Ujor New Yam Festival Of Apa- Agila (Photos)

The 2022 edition of the Ujor new yam festival has been celebrated in Apa-Agila, Ado local government area with the conferment of chieftaincy titles on select deserving sons of the soil and idomaland.

Speaking during the occasion on Friday, the Oche’apa agila, chief Moses obande said it is a yearly rite of the agila people and it provides opportunity for the title elders of the land to renew their unflinching loyalty to the king while making certain resolutions for peace and growth of the area.

In his remark, the speaker of Benue state House of assembly and governorship candidate for PDP, hon Titus Uba said the occasion is not just to celebrate the new yam but a coming together of the sons and daughters of the land to enable them take stock of what is going on with the area and to chart a way forward. He also promise to work on the road when they are elected into office.

In his remark the senator representing Benue south senatorial zone, Comrade Abba Moro thanked them for finding him and the other honorees worthy of the chieftaincy titles given to them , while assuring the traditional council of their support at all times. He also expressed joy them for holding onto their culture.

Chieftaincy titles given to Senator Abba Moro is Osu Denyi Nmenyi, Dr Ochapa Ogenyi as Abo Etolebi, Prince Edwin Ochai as Odojo 1 of Agila land and hon James Oche as Okojokwu Ebi Oho’gbenu.

Also on same day senator Abba Moro also commissioned a health centre built to cater to the health needs of the people.
